Question:

Is Feminism just money-making for the Government?

Quote(from another poster-apologies for quoting)-

"The CIA funded Gloria Steinem, her rallies, and Ms. Magazine.

Why?

To disrupt the family, cause a rift between men and women, doubling tax revenue by forcing women to work, and keep the masses "fighting each other." David Rockefeller admitted that his foundation funded second wave feminism to create more revenue for the federal reserve."

Could there be any truth to this and how would there be any benefits with men and women fighting?

  1. It's as true as Bush planning Katrina, and had people break the dams.

  2. Even if the CIA or David Rockefeller gave money to support Gloria Steinem it does not mean that it was a reflection on Feminism.  It could be that she was a member of the Democratic Socialist of America party.  If the government was attempting to use feminism to make money it was because they saw the opportunity to make money and are using it.  It may also be an attempt to discredit feminist efforts from expanding by dirtying the name of Feminism.

  3. Hey girl - Govt's needed more fodder for the global economy so hitched their carts to feminism.  Meanwhile I think we feminists have been outmaneuvered by govt in many ways and the growth and support of Liberal Feminism in western Democracies was very much an economic phenomenon that had some "rights" fringe benefits for women.  Basically all our wages have been devalued, families struggle on one wage now and feminism is the scapegoat - neat piece of political spin.  Our aim was never to have mothers working like dogs and looking after the family.  Good question and hello mate.

  4. The whole idea is pure absurdity. It reminds me of those types who think all law enforcement officials are working for the Illuminati.

  5. Kindly, for a moment, forget the good feminism has done for women. Instead look at the long range picture per your country and how much less power Citizens now have (and will have less.)  Have those who helped feminism also helped themselves $?

Do corporations make more $ by helping to break up families?  Lawyers do.

Eoghan has it right.  When you break up a family, children go on medications (RX gets $) need to see doctors & counselors (more jobs needed & $) lawyers are needed ($) extra housing is needed ($) violence goes up (boys without fathers-ask any police officer) more payments to cable, telephone, energy ($$$-per split up families) etc.

  6. More paranoia drama-queening.

  7. I'm betting either the Illuminati or Cthulhu is behind it all. Fnord!

  8. "Gloria Steinem, a 30-year-old graduate of Smith College, said the C.I.A. has been a major source of funds for the foundation, the Independence Research Service, since its formation in 1958."

The New York Times, February 21, 1967

  9. It was the government pushing women out to work here in the 70s.

    Its classic divide and conquer

look, the family is the last human groupage, with men and women divided we are individual citizens, single wage slaves, nobody to fight for, nobody to back us up and we fill the void by buying products.

Wages went down, two tax payers per family, demand for housing went up, demand for credit went up, women are easily parted with their money via advertising, there was huge money to be made.

Do you really believe that governments and big business aren't aware of all this?

Two articles about the end of the family, its very sad

  10. So...what you're suggesting by mentioning this is that we should start forbidding women to work? Take back all the rights won? Mmmk...sounds like someones feeling threatened.

  11. I think he needs to put his tin foil hat back on and get back to his vigil of watching for the black helicopters.
