Is Ferrari ready to replace Felipe Massa with Michael Schumacher? – Formula 1 Special
The sudden amalgam of news leave us with a huge question mark over the future of Michael Schumacher and the effectiveness related to the decision of Lewis Hamilton to join Mercedes for the next 3 years.
Many critics have criticised the decision of the British driver while the spectators are waiting for the seven times world champion, Schumacher to break the news related to his future in Formula 1.
The other question which rise in our mind is what happened with Felipe Massa? We know he has been supported by the championship leader a lot and who can deny the ‘tactical move’ Alonso made in the qualifiers of the Italian Grand Prix. He tucked Massa’s car
on the Italian circuit right after Luca di Montezemolo spoke that they need someone more capable than Massa to become competitive in the Constructors’ Championship.
That support by the Championship leader cost him a 10th grid position and he managed to the third position on the podium whereas Massa attained 3rd gird. It was the time which supported the winning streak of McLaren. Ferrari was known to be among the most
competitive cars on the circuits in the first half of the current season and even with such favourable conditions, Massa could only attain 25 points in the championship, until then.
Schumacher holds an impressive record with Ferrari and has proven with his skills that even after the short retirement from the sport he still had the ability to remain competitive over the circuit. There is no way with which we could compare Schumacher
with Massa but let us see at their statistics. Schumacher was able to attain 29 points before the summer break with Mercedes, and we all know that Mercedes has faced several problems in the first half of the season which were related to the tyre wear out problems
and other issues.
Schumacher easily edges Massa when it comes to statistics. We wonder how Mercedes could decide such a thing even after Ross Brawn has announced that they would offer some other position to Schumacher in the team. It is also said that the seven times world
championship remain tight-lipped which lead him towards such consequences. He has not announced anything yet and plans to concentrate over the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix.
Schumacher was performing impressively in the Red team. His performance disturbed when he joined Mercedes in 2010. In that year he was unable to attain any podium for his team. All the experts believe that he knows the sport and cars really well.
All the above mentioned facts make us think what happened to the news related to Massa and why is Ferrari so silent over such an issue. We also believe that Schumacher should retire rather going to Sauber, because it is further uncompetitive over the circuits.
We wonder how Lewis Hamilton decided to join Mercedes in the next 2013 season at a time when McLaren is proving its strength over the circuit. McLaren holds second position in the Constructor’s championship while Mercedes is at the 5th position. We believe
that the veteran driver must have something in his mind which makes him think that he would be able to win the championship in the next 2013 season or maybe 2014 season and even 2015 would not be bad because Hamilton’s contract lasts for three years and we
wish all the best to the British driver.
