I don't think Steve Finnan has much of a future at Liverpool, I believe that Benitez was prepared to use him in the Gareth Barry transfer but Finnan didn't want to leave, and now that has angered Benitez so it looks like he's on his way out anyway.

I wish he would cause he's clearly the best right back we have cause Arbeloa is useless and the new singing couldn't even get on the Swiss team at the Euros!!

Every year Rafa has tried his best to dislodge Finnan and all he's ended up doing is upsetting the consistency of the back 4. At least when Houllier was in charge we had a deadly defense cause it was the same 4 week in and week out.

I think Carragher will start the season at right-back with Skrtel and Agger/Hyypia(If Agger is ready for Premier League after long-term injury) in the middle. Benitez was trying to sell him to us in exhange for Gareth Barry which suggests he doesn't want him. The new signing Degan is another possibility or Arbeloa, But Degan too has been out injured and has just joined the club, Arbeloa I think will play Left Back. I expect Benitez will go tried-and-tested at the back to begin with.

No his days are long gone...he couldn't even get back into the team last season after injury! Liverpool only rate him at 1 million! So I believe his days are numbered....

Probably not. It's either Arbeloa or Degen for right-back, but I think it's going to be mainly Arbeloa. I still would pick Finnan though.. still the best right-back in the squad.
