Is Flagyl safe in early pregnancy? I've read that it is and also that it isn't so I'm confused.?

My OB prescribed Flagyl for an infection. I am planning to try and get pregnant next week and she said it'd be ok to take this. But this morning I read mixed results online about taking Flagyl in the first trimester. Has anyone taken this in early pregnancy and had everything turn out ok? I trust my OB but I also want some reassurance from someone whose been through it. Thanks!

i was treated for an infection with it 2 times in my first trimester.  i'm fine.  baby's fine.
