  1. yes he is another michael jordan but a boxer he is 39-0

  2. YES

  3. IF HE BEATS Cotto!

h**l NO. Who can you compare that creep with Jordan? Please.

  4. ray boom boom mzncini gets my vote,, even sugar ray lenard, floyd;s attitude sucks which makes him ugly

  5. No. Jordan was overrated for sure, but he is one of the greatest. Floyd 'one and run' Mayweather is a bum.

  6. I like to compare Floyd to more of a Dennis Rodman  good at what he does (Rodman with rebounds Floyd at defense) but one on one with the top guys of his time (Rodman againt Jordan/Kobe) (Floyd against Cotto/Margarito/Mosley/Quintana) he has no chance. Another similarity is there WWE careers and all around sideshow efforts

  7. are you kidding!!??

floyd mayweather is the ultimate track and fielder of boxing.

the only way he can beat cotto is bore cotto to submission. otherwise.....he's mashed potato

  8. Nau Micheal is one of the top 5 basketball players all time if not the top basketball player, Mayweather is just a temporary top guy in the sport, certainly not an alltimer yet.

  9. I would say more like the kobe of boxing.

  10. Mayweather sucks when he fights someone that can fight, he runs.. he never beat anyone that have talent.. and if he did fight against someone with a big names it was because that person was on his way out all mayweather fights were hand picked for him to win the best fighter today would BERNARD HOPKINS hands down

  11. IF he beats Cotto, Clottey, and Margo in the next 18 months I will say, sure why not.  But until he does, I will have to say that it just ain't so.

  12. NO, Sugar Ray Robinson is fool!!

joradan took on the best teams , floyd hanst taken on the best in more then 3 years

  13. Not even close.  He has not transcended the sport world like Jordan did.

The closest thing we have to Jordan is Oscar De La Hoya.  Everyone recognizes him and knows he is a boxer.....even if they have never seen him fight.  While DLH may not be Jordan-like in performance........he has done well as an ambassador for the sport.  There is no denying that when he fights, it's an event that resonates beyond the boxing world.

I have never seen Tiger Woods play golf....but I definitely know what he looks like.

I doubt you would get the same kind of recognition with Mayweather.  Sure he is a phemon, but his style of fighting will keep him from reaching Jordan-like praise or stature.

That type of praised is reserved for those that inspire...and unfortunately for Mayweather defensive mastery is not the stuff of legends or inspiring.  Many casual fans think it's rather boring.

Jordan, like Woods, was the total package.......talented, salesmanship, inspiring, dominant and PROVEN.

  14. FLOYD MAYWEATHER SUCKS!

  15. no disagree

Muhammad Ali is and always will be the Micheal Jordan of boxing

  16. He certainly is Jordan-like in his approach to his craft.  All BS aside, Money May does what it takes between fights to remain tops in the sport.  But MJ was the greatest ever, Floyd isn't.

  17. not at all,...the only similarity is that they both run around.....

  18. Michael Jordan was by far the best basketball player of his era and arguably the greatest basketball player of all time.  He proved that by dominating his era and outshining EVERY OTHER top player out there- he truly is an all-time great.  Floyd Mayeather, Jr. is a great fighter who is the pound for pound best out there today, BUT he is not "the Jordan of boxing."  If I had to call anyone the Jordan of boxing in relatively recent years, I would have to go with Roy Jones, Jr. because Roy truly did dominate HIS era and he was just as skilled and talented in his prime as any other athlete in any sport.  In order for me to call Floyd the Jordan of boxing, he must beat the top welterweight contender out there- Miguel Cotto (or Margarito if he beats Cotto).  I could care less about Floyd fighting Clottey, Quintana, Williams, or anyone else because he can't fight them all and the majority of them would not be worth it to him or the fans for that matter.  I think that if he truly wants to call himself the best fighter of his era as a welterweight, then he should accept the challenge of a young, hungry, and in-his prime welterweight contender like Miguel Cotto.  Cotto is the only one that I want to see Floyd fight, and if he beats Cotto (which I think he eventually will) then I would not hesitate to call him the best of his era, similarly to how Michael Jordan was, and I think that he will be able to retire in peace knowing that he truly was an all-time great and the best fighter of his era, but NOT the greatest of all time like he claims (Sugar Ray Robinson holds that honor).

  19. heck no..... he is not the jordan of boxing... there was one person who was the jordan of boxing, and that is Muhammad Ali... Mayweather is more like the Kobe of basketball, a wannabe....

  20. Mayweather sucks he wont beat cotto because he says he wont fight him. He just cares about fighting for money and fighting boxers he can and has beaten. Plus all he does is run around the ring.
