Does Miami really have any suburbs? Their are som many people packed in that small area, that their arent really any suburban feel areas. The closest to that might be the areas of west Broward and Dade. But in south florida people do not really say they live in the suburbs, no matter where they are. Who agrees with me?

  1. Ft Lauderdale is in a different county! It's not a suburb of Miami. A suburb of Miami would be Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Kendall, Hialeah, etc. Ft Lauderdale is a totally separate city with it's own suburbs like Sunrise, Coral Springs, Davie, etc.

Most people in Miami just say they live in Miami because it's also the name of the county.

  2. Ft Lauderdale is considered by many here the ghetto of miami. Is where you go if you want to meet with other people's spouses.

  3. Fort Lauderdale and Miami are two separate and distinct places.  Suburbs of Fort Lauderdale include Tamarac, Plantation, Sunrise, Lauderhil and Lauderdale Lakes.  They are all smaller cities that are to the west and a bit more suburban.  Miami has it's own sections like Sunny Isles, Coral Gables and Libety City and Overtown.  Not all that suburban but are close to and considered part of Miami.

  4. Your an idiot thers so many suburbs in miami, coconut grove, palmetto bay, pinecrest, kendal, coral gables.

  5. To some, I guess it would be considered that. Keep in mind that all of South Florida - Miami, Broward, and W Palm counties are getting more and more congested.

Due to Miami being so crowded people decided to move north and then Hollywood Dania and Ft Lauderdale started to get more congested. When there is people, there is money to be made, so fast fwd a bit, clubs, malls, and all types of bussiness concentraded in Ft Lauderdale for that reason and back in the 80's Fort Lauderdale used to be the Spring Break place to be, similar to Cancun or Jamaica is now.

  6. The city of Miami is just that. Those who live outside the city limits would be considered the suburbs of Miami. When you are from Miami my answer right along with Collete J would make better sense to you. City of Miami is where downtown Miami is, basically where Overtown is also located. The city of Miami has its own police dept. Just like Coral Gables, Hialeah just to name a few. Kendall, Richmond Heights has Metro-Dade police....and the list goes on. But when you live, born or raised in Miami......its just that Miami. Now Ft Lauderdale is in Broward county. Which is actually 15 mins from the city limits of Miami but its not Miami. Miami is Dade county.....maybe if you Google this info u may get a better understanding.
