  1. I say borderline and I'm kind of picky so, YES

He should definitely go into the Hall of Great Sports Nicknames for the Big Hurt.

  2. I think he is in 500+ plus homerun and 1,700+ RBI

  3. yes yes yes and yes dude

  4. Absolutely.

  5. 500 Home runs is NOT a guarantee to the Hall anymore and there will be a few who will not get in with 500. With that said, anyone who says Frank Thomas will not get in the Hall has no clue what they're talking about. He was voted the AL player of the 90s (only 2nd behind Bonds for player of the 90s). He was a lock a few years ago.

  6. yes

  7. i think so...500 home runs is probably gonna be good enough to get him in no matter what anyone thinks

  8. You know, people used to say 500HR meant automatically hall of fame worthy, but things have been different lately.  If you asked this a few years ago, people might have said no, but he's had some good seasons and showing he's still got a great swing.  I think since he's performed well the past few years, he should be really close, but nothing is a guarantee.

  9. no

  10. With 500 HR's, I think so.

  11. Yes. He has over 500 home runs and also was just a good all around hitter. In the Steroid Era, he was widely acknowledged to be clean. He was one of only two players to talk with the Mitchell Commission. He will go in on the first ballot.

  12. i say YES, he has the number and looks like he is not done yet.....

  13. I would say YES.

    Career batting wise...

.302 520 1701. His career OPS was nearly 1.000. He was obviously an offensive force to be reckoned with.

He is also only one of four hitters to bat .300, with 500 home runs, 1,500 RBIs, 1,500 BBs and 1,000 runs in their career. He also won back to back MVPs and would have won the batting Triple Crown if it weren't for the strike.

I think the only argument you can have against this guy is the lack of the leather but in his time, the DH was really becoming very popular so the bat was worth way more than the glove.

So I would give my vote to Thomas a a first ballot HOF.

  14. yeah... he has 500 homers

  15. He was among the elite of his peers in his era. It seems that 500+ homeruns is no longer a shoe-in, but that's partly because of alleged

performance enchancing drug use among a large portion of the clubs most recent members. But looking beyond that, he could hit for average (over .300 lifetime BA) two MVPS, incredible longevity (has kept his career alive as a DH and can still contribute), and most important, .971 OPS, 12th all-time. Everyone above him are in the Hall except for Barry Bonds, Albert Pujols, Todd Helton, Manny Ramirez, and Mark McGwire, all argubaly future HOFers. People below him include Mantle, Dimaggio, Musial, Mays, Aaron. Although the game has changed over the years, I truly beleive the OPS is one of the most acurate figures of comparison for players from different eras. So in my opinion, The Big Hurt is in.

  16. yea he hits a lot of HRs

  17. Yes any guy who gets 500 HR should be in

  18. I think he should eventually get in, but he is not a first ballot hall of famer.

  19. yes he is hall of fame worthy but i dont know if he will get in i think he sould with over 500 homeruns and 1700 rbi's but i am not saying he will make it and i am not saying he will make but that is wat i think

                           go cards

  20. He's one of those borderline players. However with his two MVPs and being an elite player at his position during his prime, I think he is poised for the Hall. He has the supporting stats, and unlike other players with his statistics he has the MVPs to back him.

  21. Of course he is. 520 Homeruns and 1701 RBI are totally HOF worthy

  22. I am gonna go with yes here. I asked this question before,  I was unsure if he was on the White Sox when they got the WS rings, and someone told me he was. Taking that into account and the fact that he hit over 500 HRs and is a career .300 hitter, I think it would be a travesty to not let him in.

  23. Yes, he is a monster with a bat.

  24. He pretty much has 500 home runs and he's closing in on 3,000 hits. So yes he's HOF worthy.
