Is French food really fattening ?

Ive been wanting to see if this french restraunt tastes good ( never had french before) but is it really fattening ?

  1. French food can be fattening, but not all of it. I live in Montreal so I know a lot about this. The pastries are definetly fattening. (Croissants have tons of butter etc) But, in French cuisine there are lots of different salads.

    But, to answer your question...  I think it is fattening, but also heard it isn't that tasty, that explains why French people are thinner.
