  1. No; I visited France this past summer, and I found most of the food to be monotonous and flavorless--the only things that lived up to my expectations were the breads, the yogurts, and the desserts. These three categories never disappointed, but I found the meats, soups, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, pizzas, pastas, and everything else completely lacking in flavor. It was like they contained no herbs or seasonings at all. It was so weird, because people tout French food so much as being the best in the world.

Overall, I think the Chinese beat the pants off the French in all categories--resourcefulness, flavor, variety, presentation, and qaulity of food are all superior. Plus, the Chinese know how to barbeque; the French do not.

  2. i don't think so... you can not beat good old fish and chips

  3. chinese and italian food is common......................especially italian food its well liked.

  4. idk but im goin to france for the spring

  5. No, its not the best... but its awesome. I'm totally into all forms of ethnic food. I have no personal favorite form of food. Mexican, all Asian (Sushi, Chinese, Thia, Vietnamese, etc), Italian, French, Greek, Ethiopian, all these are favorites of mine.

  6. no i hate garlic and there is too much of it in french food.

    i do like the chocolate

but....... the best is mexican food

    itis spicy, hot and delicious

    and cheesy

    YUM!

  7. nope, fresh food is the best food in the world.

  8. You must be joking? I mean who'd want to eat frogs legs or snails????

  9. absolutely not! First comes Japonese. then Indian, then Morrocan, then Israeli, then Chinese, then Italian and only after that can i rank French food! This is only m opinion though, because I grew up with these foods. Indian is my favourite because they've got a HUGE variety of spices.

  10. Chinese fooooooooooooooooooooooooood

    ....and then?

    Seriously though? Italian.

  11. Champagne is what clinches it if it is... For me, I lust more over Spanish and  Italian or Mexican food. Thai is in there somewhere, too, before I consider French... But French is the grandaddy of a lot of those styles too, unless you consider Mexican American and thus in a different class.

  12. No.

Filipino and Italian food are the best.....

  13. NO!!! It is the best cuisine in France, though.

It is one of the TOP 5...but of course it depends on who's voting...since it is a small and fairly young country and has a finite geographical area, the developed cuisine will reflect that.

ITALY, same story...but does border cold countries that influence its cuisine greatly...AND incorporated foods and techniques into their national diet during their glory years of the Holy Roman Empire (a long time ago) while France has for the most part maintained their regional cuisine with a certain disdain towards outside influences. (Yes, I know, they employ their technical cooking brilliance to other foods and influences... mainly from "The Napoleonic  Years"...)

Countries like CHINA, an older and more refined culture, again in the TOP 5, can be argued to have a greater variety in its cuisine(s) but unified with-in the whole by their long separatist history. It can more easily be argued that it  is the number one "cuisine" in the world for that reason alone.

INDIAN CUISINE same argument as CHINA...vast country, wild variety but unified cuisine.

NOTE: My favorite cuisine is Mexican which is NOT considered to be in the TOP 5, but is really an amalgam of their unique ingredients with Spanish Cuisine...(Love it, too but I think it is limited along with France and Italy by its geography)

"THE BEST FOOD IN THE WORLD" ??? Is that your argument or the title given to you? Makes a difference in how to approach the subject...I just reiterated some opinions that I have "digested" over the years...Use them or not to pursue how you approach your presentation...ie if you are FOR French cuisine to maintain the "TITLE" then refute any arguments I have brought up by quickly acknowledging, smashing to smithereens, and STRONGLY backing up your thesis...Whatever.

  14. I love french food but has being the best food in the world i cant say as the spanish do good food as well, but at least its better then english food.

  15. Not at all...............

    who told u this

but of course it is one of the best cuisines

  16. It' s bit too rich for me.....All  food cultures have got their long history based on each country's culture, so maybe it's not worth  arguing about it.....

  17. No way!

  18. Italian all the way baby

  19. Actually, fancy French food originated in Italy.

All the chefs in the Royal Kitchen were Italians.

So my answer is French food is just Italian food using local ingredients.

  20. every food is good. there is no taboo......

  21. only to french people
