  1. No, that's why they call it French and Creole, not French and French, or Creole and Creole. If it were the same it would have the same name. It may be similar, but it is not the same. Even English (British) and English (American) have the same name but are WAY different. I say I speak American. I can't understand half the stuff that the British say....but since they were around first they get the title of English, I'll gladly take American.


  2. No.  Creole is a mix of French, African American, Caribbean, Spanish, etc.  The Creole people are Americans who live in an area of Louisiana, and have a culture all their own, including language and food.

  3. I think Creole was once a dialect of French, but it's its own language now.  It's still similar to French though.

  4. Créole is a local language derived from a mixture of French, Spanish, Portuguese, English, local indigenous languages and imported African languages. There are several types of creole  around the world, from Mauritius to Martinique.

    It has a grammar and it evolves with time, just like other languages. Some French words can be heard clearly but not enough that it can be understood by a French-speaking person.
