Is Fuel Injector Cleaner really needed these days?

Is fuel injector cleaner really needed when a lot of our gasoline brands have added detergents to their fuels?

If it's still needed for cars, how often do you need to use it?

If it's still needed, what brand is best?

I don't use it, but I can't say anything against the stuff. I think an area of concern would be how much ethanol is in our gas and what it does to mileage and performance. There shouldn't be a need anymore for gas dryer because of the ethanol.
