  1. Yes it's a very good deal.  Plus the dividend is pretty good.

  2. How do you like to lose money?  Consider buying puts with your purchase and selling calls.  Just a suggestion.

Remember, buy your puts using mechanical advantage, or they will cost you big time!

  3. GE is so diversified, that some view an investment in GE almost to be like an investment in a mutual fund.  Because their operations are so diversified.  Also, GE is considered to be a bellweather stock, and is widely regarded for their always-solid management team.

i don't know too much specifically about GE's business, or where they derive the bulk of their revenues from.  but GE is a truly global company that is active in acquiring smaller growing companies.

Its current stock price does seem historically low, it's now trading at just about 14 times earnings, which doesn't strike me as too rich.  plus GE pays dividends, and cash is very important.  obviously.

i would say it's a long-term buy, based on my limited knowledge.   short-term...???  probably a decent prospect.

  4. You should look it up in yahoo finance.

In the past 5 years GE has been as high as $42 about 1 year ago.

It has seldom gone below $30 in those 5 years, but, it has been there.

It is paying a dividend, it says $1.24 that could change +/-

The dividend would pay for the Stock in about 24 years +/- at the present rate.

If it were to take 5 years to get back to $42 you would make $12 per share +/-

    So, 100 shares @ $30 would make maybe $1,200 profit + dividends for a $3,000 investment.

So, it your guess. I buying for long term when it dips down below $29.

I just want, what I feel are better companies in my long term investments. These be stocks I sell off yearly after I retire.

  5. A way good deal...if you plan to hold it, oh, for the next twenty years or so.

  6. I'd say GE under $27 is a great deal, and under $55 is a decent deal.
