  1. As long as there is an unobstructed signal to be received you should be able to receive GPS positioning information.


  2. I would say GPS signal is very accurate, it is the maps that you should worry about, the Lat / Long information is accurate and to me, it is better to have a GPS for the country you are visiting than not to have one at all.

    you can always use way-points and tracks to know where you have been and how to get back to point of origin.

    For world travel, I would recommend a Garmin or TomTom navigation system depending on the country you are visiting.

  4. Due to roadworks, traffic accidents, bad weather, road maintenance etc, etc, GPS is never reliable in any country...
