Is Garmin 2009 Map update good?

I live in California. My Garmin Nuvi 360 map is 2008. Is it ideal to update my map. some reviews in amazon.com are negative.

Hey I have the same GPS. for me I wait and update 2 to 3 years. the only change that you may see is updates in business listings.

well i will give you a little more info than the other guys. it just depends if garmin has had any changes in the maps around where you are. How do you find out without purchasing it? go to garmin and download mapsource program for free and the new map data will be on that. so check out where you travel and where you live. Go to garmin and click on maps at the top. select on the road maps, on the right you will see a box saying mapsource map viewer. select the map product you wish to try. sounds like city navigator nt 2009. then you can browse and zoom to areas you frequently visit. here's a link too.
