Is Gary Ablett the best player for Geelong right now?

I mean he has his games but there are lots of other great players for Geelong who play consistent all year round.

Like Jimmy Bartel and Joel Selwood.

He is a great player but he doesnt always play the best he can.

Thats how Jimmy Bartel won the brownlow in 2007 because he played consistent

Ablett is always consistent - racking up lots of possessions and kicking lots of goals - he isnt just the best midfielder in the geelong side, maybey in the whole afl! hes just so fast and can dodge tackles so easily, hes really in for brownlow medal contention even if he missed those weeks with that ankle injury he is so good he wont need those weeks, he is just an amazing player.

So to answer your question, yes he is the best player for geelong right now, and that means alot, since all of geelongs player are in career best form.

Ablett's pretty consistent. You can't expect him to rack up 30+ possies and 2 goals week in, week out.

Bartel and Selwood haven't been that consistent this year. Had some pretty bad games at the start and middlle of the year.

Ablett is Geelong's best player, but isn't their most important.

Gary Ablett is an awesome player to watch and has had a very consistent season, he is so exciting to watch and very clean with the footy.  He certainly has a footy brain.

Keeping that in mind, there at least half a dozen other players that are right up there with him:

Jimmy Bartel

Joel Selwood

Cameron Ling

Joel Corey

Paul Chapman

I like Joel Corey. I think he is a better player than Ablett, though not as flashy and as a result does not receive the recognition he deserves.

Everyone to their own views, though.
