  1. When he was a younger fighter, he had come up from a poor background and pretty darn mean.  He became a boxer and an Olympic Champion in the 68 Olympics famous for waving his little American flag after winning the gold medal after the earlier protests from sprinters Carlos and Smith.  During his pro career he was pretty much a quiet and tempermental guy from what I've heard and famous for his staredowns prior to fights much like Sonny Liston had done before.  Much like Tyson later on, Big George looked unbeatable especially after the way he had pulverized the undefeated champion Joe Frazier.  Then he ran into Ali who outsmarted and beat George in The Rumble in the Jungle in Zaire, Africa.  He seemed to be back on track until he fought Jimmy Young.  After losing the decision, he heard God speak to him asking him if he was ready to die and right there and then George gave his life to Christ and retired from boxing.  He later became a minister and invented his famous George Foreman grill.  His whole personality had changed as he became a cheerful, fun loving jovial fellow with a great sense of humor.  He started being a popular figure on television commercials promoting his grill and television shows as a late night guest.  I'm not sure if there has ever been a more profound personality change as the one George had.  Of course boxing was on his mind and he made a brilliant comeback and accomplishing something at age 45 that nobody thought he could do when he beat Michael Moore for the Heavyweight Championship.  George Foreman is considered to be one of the most likeable people in the world today.

I give a good and non insulting answer to a question and get 5 thumbs down!   Who are all these trolls giving me the thumbs down?  C'mon be a man about it and admit it .  This is Childish behavior.

  2. He can no longer fight so he has to find a way to make a living by selling things. He has to be more friendly to be marketable.

  3. I've also heard that George Foreman is the biggest BS artist ever.  That he's exactly the same brooding jerk until he sees a TV camera.  More than one source, as well.  One was a reporter quoting George "you don't F with Big George" and the other being Larry Holmes pretty much confirming that Foreman is a huge, wealthy phony.

One other thing.  They way to spot an insincere smile is to look at the eyes.  A fake smile will demonstrate rounded eyes, and a real smile, the eyes squint uncontrollably.  A practiced fake smile, the eyes "over squint" disproportionately compared to the smiling mouth.  You can see great examples of this in George Foreman.

    big smile, no squinty eyes.

  4. He had a real chip on his shoulder when he was young but he mellowed out and became a nice guy when he got older.

  5. Foreman was an arrogant kind of guy back in his prime, a big bully who used his menacing stare to intimidate his opponents. He always played the bad guy leading up to fights.

He got nicer as he got older, and developed that trade mark grin. He became happier the older he got and the more involved he got with his church. (which he sais Ali led him too)

    He said Ali humbled him.

The link is a tribute Foreman wrote to Ali.

When we were kings is a great documentary, i believe every boxing fan and any person who wants to be inspired should see this movie.

thats not fair really, most people are phony on tv because they have to act a little, and if they are not good actors or are not comfortable in front of the camera it will show. The phony smile is what people are taught to do on camera so there eyes dont squint.

All buisness men are a bit of an a*****e, you have to be or people will take advantage of you.

  6. foreman became more charasmatic after his retirement in '77 when he became a christian, and when he returned to the ring in '87 he was much more relaxed than he was first time around.

  7. He was so lousey in bed, I tried to feed him Viagra thank god we had the pump.
