Becaus i was working for a company that was involved and paying into this for 2 daughters but have stopped because seeing one of the local news channels like a Brad in your corner type deal that proved this to be a non exsisting thing. Anyways i been wondering for a long time now.

  1. It's definitely a legitimate company

but like the person above me said, u should have anywhere between 6-10 thousand of coverage on your children just to cover the burial expenses

a child doesn't bring any income into the home so any more than 10 thousand would just be too much

i think it's sick to actually "benefit monetarily" from a child passing away

  2. With 2 kids, you were being ripped off, but not for what you might think.  You can add a child rider to most life insurance policies for cheeper than both of the ones you had, in some cases, even cheeper than just one of them.

All and all, it's good for those that do now know anything about the insurance field.

  3. I'm sure they are a legitimate company, but don't jump on the bandwagon just because they seem to be widely known. Go with a solid company when purchasing any life insurance. Look at their ratings and their abilities and promptness to pay out claims. And don't even buy insurance online. You need an agent to talk to face to face to decide the right plan for you. If you end up finding one--and there are still some good ones left out there--he will look out for your best interest without being too pushy. Also remember, cheaper is not always better. In fact it's usually worse.

  4. They are a legitimate company but I find them expensive for what you get. If you are the parent you may be able to add the child to your insurance as a child rider.

Would you buy insurance from Safeway?

  5. OK, Gerber Life IS a legitimate company.  They sell a legitimate product, and in the extremely rare occurrence of a claim, they pay off promptly.

The issue is, life insurance for kids is a ripoff, in general.  The product, I mean.  Buying whole life for kids, is generally thought of as an "investment", by people who are really bad at math.

I do NOT insure my kids' lives.

The COMPANY is legitimate.  The PRODUCT is one I would NEVER EVER recommend.

  6. Gerber Life Insurance is the same Gerber company that makes the baby food.  It is a legitimate company.

I'm not saying the product you are looking at is the best but rest assured that it is not a scam.

  7. Very ligitimate.  It's a division of Gerber, the baby food people.

  8. Ok. Here's the unfortunate truth. Children DO die. It's unfortunate and very emotionally wrenching..but it does happen. IF you have the $6,000 to 8,000 to pay for a child's funeral safely set aside.. then you don't need it. If you don't, I'd highly recommend some child's coverage. You may not need $50,000 or 100,000...but I'd get some coverage.
