Is Getting Water in Exhaust Pipe Bad?

i recently sprayed off my dr125 and got water into the exhaust pipe....how bad is this for the bike? would this also cause it to not run properly and stall out? any help? thanks

  1. I have never had an issue with it affecting the engine or anything. It can ruin the packing in your exhaust though. Pick up an exhaust plug for 5 bucks.

    really depends how much water you got in there...

    if you didn't fill it up with water, you should have no trouble starting it up and letting the water evaporate from the heat

    if you did fill it up with water, lift up the front end and pour out the water before starting...

  3. Just ride the bike and get it up to operating temp for a while. No big deal unless you the water sit in there.  

  4. No harm, I'm assuming you sprayed it off with a hose...

    Now if you threw the bike in a lake then that would be a problem. Well, unless if it was a Harley, then you're doing the world a favor.

  5. No, I get water in my exaust pipe often on my 4 wheeler as I go thru deep azz ponds. If it doesn't blow out when you start it lift ypp the front end to drain it then do the starter
