Question:

Is Global Warming Just a Scheme to Make Money?

Richard Branson gained press time by declaring that he would give over $3 Billion dollars to fight "Global Warming".

This cause an uproar of glee among believers as that wanted all business men now to donate some of their profits to help fight the good fight, and Branson's gift reinforced the view that global warming is real.

Now it known that Branson's gift was just a publicity stunt to increase his corporations profits. His offer helped market his company, helped boost sales and increased profits. He never really cared about the environment.

Global warming is a multi billion dollar business. Algore has made millions from both his movie AND his holdings in Occidental Petroleum while flying his corporate jet to events telling people they are evil because they drive an SUV.

Why would Wal-Mart care what light bulb you used in your home unless they helped write the laws that made you buy new bulbs that cost 10 times what the old ones cost?

When will believers acknowledge that there are many in their ranks that are using them as a tool in order that they can have fat profits?

When will anyone say that "global warming" is just a scheme for some to make money?

  1. ive always thought so.  just another big government scare to try to get you to give more power and money to the government. oh and also to give more of your freedom and rights up over something that wont change after you give everything you can give.

  2. If capitlism was based on objectivity there would be no dispute with the Oil companies making a profit. This would also apply to Occidental Petrolem, the alarmist can't make simple distinctions.

  3. Yes totally agreed and it's just the same as 1970's where people panic that there will be an impending doom of ice age but it didn't happened. Today for global warming here we go again.

  4. Well to be short and sweet, for every dollar Big Al has maded off the scam his corporate sponsers have made a hundred. No wonder their profits are higher than the contries budget for a year! If the oil companies were against global warming they would not be reaping recod profits now would they. The whole AGW scam came out of the Exxon/Mobil ditry tricks department and has been publisised theough their madison avenue advertising agencies.

  5. The Democrats will not anything be done that might give us some relief. They say that they are for the working man. Not even Gore believes it. U can tell that by the way he lives ,but U are scum if U drive a pickup. Kick the bumbs out and get some one that will do somthing and quit playing the political game.

  6. No

  7. You are the prime conspiracy theorist on this site. Exxon mobile's 2nd qtr PROFITS are greater than the green industry. If the green industry is just a money-making scheme (and isn't industry supposed to make profit?), then what is the denier movement associated with oil considered (according to T. Boone Pickens, $700 billion went to overseas oil producers last year)?

Get off your 2-legged pedestal (meaning your viewpoints are shaky)and wake up. Just because people are making money off of GW, doesn't mean it isn't true. That's what capitalism does.

  8. no! global warming is a serious problem!

many animals are dying because of this!

global warming is not just ascheme for some to make money!!1

  9. Yeah d**n those greedy climatologists.  I bet back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's when most of top climatologists were deciding what career they should take they said: " I want to become filthy rich.  I will become a climatologist."

Now look at them.  The number of billionaire climatologists increases every year.  d**n them to h**l, I say.

And if we really want to know what is going on with the climate we should ask all the veterinarians and dentists to sign a petition.

  10. I honestly believe some of those that were originally on the forefront of the movement decades ago legitimately were concerned for the future of the planet (noticed how I didn't say panicked) and they felt it might be wise to be cautious to it.  That's fine, because I believe the "threat" has been shown not a threat at all, as have some of the originators also have stated.  Whatever we had was more like one of the little tics in earth's cycle.  But now, it has evolved into a worldwide obcession, fad, panic-mode, scheme, or whatever you want to call it.  We see anyone and everyone jumping on the bandwagon for something they know nothing about or something they were either told to endorse or given only one side of the story.  For example the most recent, Tommy Lee and Ludacris.  While I am aware their opinion means next to nothing because they're just entertainers, they are more than likely supporting it because their publicist, record company or whoever thought it would be good PR.  However, young minds are like sponges and absorb much of what their told, especially from people they idolize which creates more little zombies spewing this garbage setting the stage for bad policy and law.  And if that's not enough, the one's that do matter (politicians) are hopping on board too because it's good PR and a hot-button issue that it's popular to be "green".  From all this momentum, companies see an opportunity (like any good company does) to capitalize off of it.  And it's they're not doing because it's "right", it's done to either make more profits or again for good PR which will lead to more profits.  And this is all occurring while everyone has only been fed one side of a very two-sided issue.  People are being brainwashed into believing it's settled and they can save the earth by buying more expensive CFL lightbulbs, or more expensive hybrid cars.  Everything that involves being green has one common denominator, it's more expensive.  The movement has ceased to be something of true concern of social or scientific value and has become something of fashion with no basis in reality or common sense.

  11. Global warming is a scam to scare people into raising taxes and accepting more control over their lives. Con men like you describe are jumping on the money train, and getting rich meanwhile the fear of GW has caused high fuel and food prices. This is one of the most successful scams in human history.

  12. Its not global warming any more its "global change" since the environmentalists have conceded that the earth will cool in the near future.

So yes its a scam !!!!!!!!!! fueled by power and greed

  13. "the money would go to a new division of the Virgin conglomerate, called Virgin Fuel"

  14. I agree with every little thing you said. Its like religion trying to scare to belive the world is about to end today.

  15. Ask the polar bears who are dieing in the arctics.

  16. It takes money do research.
