Is Global Warming a sin?

Just proves that global warming is a religion, and not science.

The church still backs creationism as the reason for mans existence.  Global warming has as much science as that.

So all of the institutions of authority are banding together to convince the masses they need to give up everything they cherish...politics certainly does make strange bedfellows.

There is no proof that there is Global warming just arguments from two sides.

But what exactly is global warming? Its the warming of the globe. I'm not going to take a side in this fierce debate over economical problems caused by warming or the realisticness of it but the warming of the globe is uncontrollable.

Sure we can change the end result by a couple degrees and maybe cause some species to go extinct but we can't control its wild mayhem. There was an ice age followed by warmth and another ice age. I think we really can't do anything right now to say its our fault though we do contribute to it.

Further more, Global Warming doesn't exist. The Sun has cycles and so does everything else in life. By 2015 I assure you this story will be long gone, because the Earth's temp. will have gone down by then.

If it doesn't? Then I'm wrong; the skies will turn black and fireballs will decent from the skies.

Jello - So anytime a religious organization recognizes a scientific theory, that automatically makes the theory religious?  Does that apply to the churches recognition that Galileo was right too?

Obviously, the term "global warming" isn't in the bible.  But there are many verses in the bible which do suggest a responsibility to care for the environment.  Some of the most commonly referenced ones are:

Gen 1-2

Gen 9:8-17

Psalm 104

Rom 8:18-23

In this case, it's nice to see a large organization like Roman Catholicism (clearly, not an environmentalist extremist group and they aren't trying to get funding for climate research) recognize the importance of our planet and the clear evidence that human activities can indeed effect it positively or negatively.
