  1. Of course it has, in the arctic there are basically no emissions but the ice caps are melting

  2. No,only the ones who buy misinformation as gospel. The climate is always changing.

  3. Al Gore is an idoit. Global warming does not exist!!!!

  4. Yes, but not equally.  As the poles lose ice and snow they reflect less energy back out into space, so they're heating much more.

  5. A short answer for a short question;

    Yes.

  6. The only disinformation is coming from the powerful forces that control our govt and economy who don't want you to know the truth.

Have you noticed that all the right wingers who make statements like  "Al Gore is an idiot" don't have anything intelligent to say.  That's because they aren't intelligent.  They believe in an ideology of hate.  Everything they say about global warming is pure belief.  It has absolutely no scientific basis.

They make statements like "its quack science".

If they are to be believed, then all the worlds climate scientists are quacks.

Yes it affects the whole world, but the worst impact is in the polar regions where temperatures have already risen by several degrees F.

Have you seen Al Gore's movie?  there is another movie made in 1989 called "After the Warming" which you can watch online.

If you have seen either of these movies, they make it clear that the whole world is effected.

You wouldn't believe how many reactionaries I have met who make such nonsense claims, then when you ask them, they haven't even bothered to see Gore's movie.  It's their story and they're sticking with it even if the whole world goes down the drain before their clouded over eyes.

  7. YEAH, that's kinda what GLOBAL means

  8. The planet is constantly in flux.  The northern hemisphere is in winter and the southern is in summer currently.  One place might get extreme snow and rain where another will have a drought.  Our planet is always changing and warmer or cooler will always affect one place more harshly than another.

For instance during an ice age, there are often more harsh conditions than when the earth has been warmer.  An ice age will trap much of the earth's fresh water into glaciers and snow pack and desertify other areas...the land bridge anyone.  When the earth has been warmer there are often an increase in growth of species of all kinds including plants and animals as more fresh water is in the atmosphere and available for precipitation.  Our planet is an interesting place and is constantly in flux.

I believed in the human caused global warming until I went to college and took a few classes in Geology and statistics.  Since then I have been keeping up with the debate.....which it should still be considered.  Many people don't understand what is going on beside what the media tells them.  Understand that the study of weather and climate is still in its infancy.  Does anyone know where the government puts the temperature gauges that we rely on for our climate change data?  Many of them our placed near air conditioned vents or in parking lots or airports and many of them are moved from time to time.  Is that scientific?  Many scientists say that currently there is no good way to determine what the global climate is because the data is unreliable because of this.

Everyone should pay attention to what is going on and always ask your own questions, like where is the data coming from?  How long have we been gathering data?  What other factors might be interfering with our data that would make it incorrect?

Think and don't just jump on the sky is falling bandwagon.

  9. Yes of course the ice caps are melting and the temptuture is increasing. There must be an end to this!

  10. No, just the outside!  Seriously though, the climate is mostly about the air and the water.  It will affect the oceans too, especially due to currents. . It will affect all life, which is what really matters.

  11. an excerpt from a post by Jack H

The most recent attempt to imply there was an overwhelming scientific "consensus" in favor of man-made global warming fears came in December 2007 during the UN climate conference in Bali. A letter signed by only 215 scientists urged the UN to mandate deep cuts in carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. But absent from the letter were the signatures of these alleged "thousands" of scientists. (See AP article: - LINK )

UN IPCC chairman Rajendra Pachauri urged the world at the December 2007 UN climate conference in Bali, Indonesia to "Please listen to the voice of science."

The science has continued to grow loud and clear in 2007. In addition to the growing number of scientists expressing skepticism, an abundance of recent peer-reviewed studies have cast considerable doubt about man-made global warming fears. A November 3, 2007 peer-reviewed study found that "solar changes significantly alter climate." (LINK) A December 2007 peer-reviewed study recalculated and halved the global average surface temperature trend between 1980 - 2002. (LINK) Another new study found the Medieval Warm Period "0.3C warmer than 20th century" (LINK)

A peer-reviewed study by a team of scientists found that "warming is naturally caused and shows no human influence." (LINK) - Another November 2007 peer-reviewed study in the journal Physical Geography found "Long-term climate change is driven by solar insolation changes." (LINK ) These recent studies were in addition to the abundance of peer-reviewed studies earlier in 2007. - See "New Peer-Reviewed Scientific Studies Chill Global Warming Fears" (LINK )

With this new report of profiling 400 skeptical scientists, the world can finally hear the voices of the "silent majority" of scientists."

    So there you have it.
