  1. No.

  2. yes

  3. Yes.

Only 6% of the population believes that global warming is not happening, the same percentage of people believe that the lunar landing was a hoax:

"Seventy-one percent say that global warming is probably happening, 6 percent believe it is probably not happening..."

    http://www.fightglobalwarming.com/conten...

"A 1999 poll by the The Gallup Organization found that 89 percent of the US public believed the landing was genuine, while 6 percent did not..."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Moon...

Ask your friends if they also wear tin foil hats to protect themselves from government mind control experiments.

  4. Yeah but not on such a huge scale as people are making it to be, it is mostly to blame because of the livestock industry (all the gasses produced by cows, sheep etc.) worldwide.  They make much more greenhouse gasses than cars do overall

  5. Yea, it is. The people that say that it isn't are completely in denial.

  6. GW is a scam . Look at the people that are making a lot of money. The oil co. are making billions.

The CO2 is not there as the plants have recycled it.

    Methane is not there .

If the gas that is sup post to cause isn't there how can there be GW.

  7. Obviously there is controversy because the answer is not as clear as the people would like to change American living. Yes  the water levels are increasing and there seems like there is most likely some correlation to the atmosphere and it's contents with the core and surface temperatures of the earth. Exactly what how much things are effecting the changes are hard to tell as well as how things will play out in the future. There are theories coming up everyday and it is really hard to keep up with most of them.

When data is presented to you there is most likely some if not a lot of biases. I would advise in looking into them until you feel comfortable that all the corners have been covered. One example is if someone is claiming the earth is cooling for the past decade and only took observations for several ocean points to make the claim, one would most likely want to look more into verifying the claim that the whole earth is cooling. Or what other factors may be producing these phenomenons.

On the other hand can one say how much is human interfering with the climate patterns.

In my opinion I would tend to agree that we do play a significant factor in global warming.

I would just be careful in certain reports for they mostly are misleading.

  8. Yea, look at the first answer's very first reference and you will see a crayola sketch.  What a bunch of rhetoric!!!  No, Earth naturally warms after an ice age.  None of these alarmists will ever mention that part and just say it is all bad, just like they said global cooling was bad in the seventies.  They are so full of it and they throw a bunch of c**p science out there to confuse everyone.  So, you are suppose to say, "This is too confusing to figure out, so it must be true."

Their beloved CO2 cannot even stay warm for one day; Far less than the 10, 20, and 100 years that they tout that it is responsible for.  Then they come up with this light thing, which is totally and completely dependant on the sun.  Yet CO2 magnifies it somehow....  If that were even remotely true, then we would have CO2 microscopes, telescopes and magnifying glasses.... But, behold, there is not one think made of CO2 except for fire extinguishers which...  Cools fires and makes them instantly cool.  That's all they got and anything else is c**p piled so high, that you can't see over it.

  9. global warming n***s are trying to make you apologize for being alive.

The aim of global warming fear-mongerers is much more frightening than actual global warming.

Al gore wants to eliminate 80% of the world's population.

Al gore wants a gallon of gas to cost 20 dollars, and wants the automobile to be outlawed (read his book, Earth in the Balance, if you don't believe me).

Ted Turner thinks that in 30 years everyone will be canibals, eating eachother alive. And the usa will be the same thing as Sudan.

These global warming n***s are what should be feared.

Humans are NOT warming the planet.

But al gore wants people dead, or taxed into poverty at the very least.

  10. Yes.  Please forgive the long answer - there's a ton of proof, and I want to list the most important.  Actually, the real proof is in the links.

This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)

    Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

    summarized at:

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

    http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/a...

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu...

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know...  Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point.  You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

    Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

  11. Is global warming happening. Yes. We are coming out of an ice age. But the earth doesn't warm on a nice even curve it fluctuates. An example is the mini ice age we had a thousand years ago.

Is it man-made? NO. It happened several times before man was even on this earth.

The reason for the controversy, & there's a LOT more then the first posted would have you believe is that we are dealing with statistics & there are many ways to manipulate stats to state your case. A recent example is one here in Denver where they stated the Western US warmed up 1.3 degrees more than the rest of the US.

Here's how the data was manipulated:

The years sampled were from 2000 - 2005. Those were the last years of a drought in basically a desert region! Had the included 2006 & 2007 there would have been no statistical difference - but that doesn't back their case!

Also when you hear that this is the warmest temp recorded in history remember that temp recordings have only been taken for a little over the last hundred years & the measuring equipment has drastically improved & recorded measurements are made millions of times more then a hundred years ago!

A computer model is only as good as the data put into it. An example is carbon which is being blamed for global warming. The earths atmosphere  at one point had much more carbon then it does now. It wasn't warm! The earth was frozen from poles to equator!! Yet now we are being told it causes warming!!

The first posters "science" seems to be faulty -HOW? There is no "consensus" in science, only observable facts & conjectures based on those facts. This is that MAJOR part of science the first poster just doesn't get.

That said, we should be cleaning up the environment, scrubbing pollutants from our air & water as well as finding other sources of energy. Global warming socialists are taking away from what really needs to be done to fund their little social projects by using credits to redistribute the wealth. Carbon credits do nothing for the environment. The US should spend it's money on cleaning it's infrastructure & not giving it to some third world country to oppress it's people!!

  12. Read the book State of Fear by Michael Critchon, it explains that global warming was made so that people will live in fear. The government gives organizations money to research global warming. So, It's about money. The temperature and climate does change a lot but it has been changing, century after century. Earth has gone through being one continent, to getting through an ice age. The earth changes as it ages.

  13. I believe people don't want to admitt the truth because it scares the h**l out of all of us.

I think if we all really look around and what we do you would have to wonder what happens to everything we throw out with out thinking about it and the air and how dirty it really is.

I think people just don't want to care because they think this earth will last for ever but nothing last for ever.

Then you have those people who say"we will not be alive to see it"...but guess what?we are starting to see it.

everyone has their belief and some think it is alng with science that has proven it is and some think it's not.

so what ever you feel is right then you do.

  14. What a lot of B.S from the answer above...it's only a lot of hype and nothing more.
