Some of my classmates beg to differ. I believe it's true.

  1. It depends on who u talk to...scientists have shown from data that each year temperatures all around the world get warmer.  But, God will come and get us before it get's so warm we die.

  2. No reputable scientist seriously disputes that the climate is getting warmer.  There are a vocal minority who claim that human activity plays little or no part in that climate change.  This does not seem to be the opinion of the majority of scientists, and the VAST majority of peer-reviewed scientific journal articles on the subject support the hypothesis that there is a significant anthropogenic component to global warming:

  3. It's possible that the earth is in a warming period, but no evidence that humans are to blame.

Actually, the latest NASA temperature measurements might be showing a cooling since 1998.  The hottest year on record is 1934 followed by 1998.  It's been cooling for the last 10 years, so we may not really be in a warming period anymore.

These cooling and warming periods are cyclic and very normal.  No one really knows what causes them even though there are a lot of theories out there.

Let your classmates differ.  It's good to debate issues like this.  If you want to debate intelligently, read up on the subject, but don't  just "believe" in global warming since that sounds too much like a religion to others.

  4. Actually no its a conspiracy. Since scientists are on the verge of so many new breakthroughs (we wont need oil anymore due to the new radio waves boiling water thing and pressurized cans that contain elements that do not cause health issues, just to name a few) that they needed to invoke fear on the public eye so that thy can force change on to us. the whole CFC thing is something they got from cows. Cow gas is actually the most crucial source of CFCs Look it up

  5. Whether you believe in global warming or not.Whether humans are the cause- you should research on what scientists are saying. There is no consensus.  Last time i checked Al Gore is not a scientist.  I believe there are cycles, the sun has the majority to do with "global warming"

  6. Global warming is definitely occurring right now, but how much of it is caused by humans is not known.  Ice caps are definitely melting, but there have been ice bridges that have melted thousands of years ago too.  There certainly wasn't all the car emissions or refineries that are around today.  The Northwest passage is the most known of these melted ice formations that has disappeared due to nature. Sometimes people forget about the basics and get sucked in by the loony left.  Whatever you do, just watch out for those radicals, because sometimes they put ideals above people.

  7. Yes.  The proof is in the links below.

This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)

    Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know...  Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point.  You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

    Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA
