Question:

Is God wasteful? God created the whole universe and man occupies only a tiny portion.?

I guess what I am asking is some religions profess a belief that the end of the world will be within their lifetimes and this gives man too little time to occupy any world outside of the earth.

Why create a universe that will take millions of years to explore when we have only cosmic seconds to do so?

  1. we have millions of years if we use our time right we will be able to harness the resources we have around our solar system and use them to explore the universe or atleast our own galaxy we just have to keep ourselves alive long enough. it truly is up to us.

  2. What a human calls "wasteful," God might call "overflowingly generous."

God isn't stingy when it comes to creation.  The expansiveness of the universe mirrors His own vast, loving extragance.

  3. John 17:3 - Accurate knowledge of God and his son Jesus Christ leads to everlasting life.

Who is to say we won't occupy other planets one day?

  4. I think God wanted to show us how great His is and yet how much He loves us.

  5. Who knows? God hasn't told us what the rest of the universe is for, although since we were intended to live forever we would have had time to explore more of it.

He could also have (or have planned to) create other intelligent life on other planets (however what with his right to rule being in question that would probably be on hold)

  6. I suppose we're like god's favorite speck of sand in the galactic desert?

  7. It's not all about us.

  8. According to some astronomers, every single thing in the universe is crucial to life on this planet. The other planets and stars have a direct bearing on our climate, our gravity, our exposure to sunlight, our orbit etc. In otherwords, God knew what he was doing. Ours is the only planet that to our knowledge could support human life as we know it.

Exploration is interesting, but the more we find, the less we know.

  9. Kind of hard to believe isnt it...but you'll find religious people have an answer for that. Apparently they are the 'chosen' ones.

  10. Maybe God wanted humans to have some perspective on their lives.

  11. so god can live in it!! its his house.... DuHH!!

where would he live if he just created earth??

  12. Its his universe he can do what he wants with it.

How do we know what he is using those other planets for.  We have admitted to not having full understanding of other planets.  Why do I have 10 plants in my house and I dont need them because its perfectly good tree's right outside my front door.

  13. have you ever considered there other parts of the universe are being used or have been used or will be used?

why do you think the universe needs explored or even that it has not been explored?

do you think it is mans responsibility to explore? if so why? do you think that is Gods purpose for man(kind)?

what is your idea of wastefulness? what do you think is wastefulness to God.

have you ever thought that man is where he should be?

have you ever considered what we think life or a living thing is is different from what God considers living?

do you think life is needed for exploration or to make use of something?

Most of all, have you ever wondered what God's meanings are?

....................i will end here for now.

  14. According to my belief man was created to live forever. That's more time than is needed to explore the entire universe.

  15. well just because humans dont live there, doesn't mean nothing does.

  16. God created the whole universe to show his splendid and his power.

  17. the question is why make the world so big. can you experience everything in this world in one lifetime? Can you see all the marvels of this world? Can you watch children learn as a teacher and experience the thrill of flying as a pilot. can you know the joy of a harvest as a small farmer and knowing the pleasure of sealing a 10million dollar deal as an investment banker? this world in iteslf is too big to enjoy in one lifetime. but that is what makes us want to live and enjoy as much as we can. imagine what our children could experience in the future if we start living on worlds? We are exploratory creatures, if we didnt have room to grow and things to explore we would be unhappy.
