Everysince the American dollar has began its rapid nose dive I have began to hear more and more about why I should invest in gold... However, seeing that only gold dealer commercials and Ron Paul supporters are talking about gold I wonder if this is something that I should seriously consider?

Thanks to all!

  1. only as a minor portion of a diversified portfolio.

  2. I keep about 5% of my portfolio in physical, tangible gold (keep it in a safe deposit box), and then another 5% of my portfolio is in gold related investments.

  3. Gold seems to be good but oil better but with gold at least your not helping s***w your self.  Gold might be a good way of perserving weath and actualy grow it now in tough times but hopefuly the market will get better soon. Gold for the next 3-5 years or longer depending on market and dollar conditions. 10-25% gold (or other hedge) for your portfolio

contact Monex or other also the guy above has good idea above pres. metal funds seem like a good idea

  4. As a hedge to the rest of your portfolio, maybe. But as a major investment, no.

  5. Never.

  6. I think gold is too high to buy right now... I would wait for it to come down then buy it...

  7. It depends upon what the rest of your portfolio looks like.  Some say that it's a good idea to have at least some of your portfolio in gold or precious metals.

Fora commercial free approach, try looking at mutual funds from Fidelity, Vanguard or some of the others.  Once you see a couple that strike your fancy, call them and ask for a prospectus.  NO LOAD funds are best.
