Well Mr Grinning! My oh my how the playground mentality arises when the surface is scratched.

Never mind, you'll get over it. How is it that someone with such a superior 'adult' mindset stoops to childish insults when their buttons are pushed? You sound just like one of Gordies own brown noses. Are you a Labour MP? or just a tw*t

  1. Now for a serious answer to a sarcastic question:

No, Queen Victoria's ghillie, John Brown (1826-1883), was born in Crathie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.  Prime Minister James Gordon Brown (born: 20 February 1951 in Glasgow, Scotland), is the son of a Church of Scotland minister, John Ebeneezer Brown, born in Largo, Fife, Scotland, in 1914, and his wife, Jessie Elizabeth Souter.  As far as anyone has been able to trace back Gordon Brown's family, except for his father, the Reverend John Brown, the family has farmed in Fife since the birth of a John Brown in Ballingry Parish, Fife, in 1804.  Brown, of course, is the second most common surname in Scotland after Smith.

BTW, I'm an American of Scottish descent (with the surname of Smith) without a dog in this fight.

    P. S.  I'd be much more interested in knowing if Gordon Brown is distantly related to US Supreme Court Justice, David Hackett Souter, of New Hampshire.

  2. I don't think so;I checked some articles about the Prime Minister's background and this wasn't mentioned.Surely an historical link like that would have been mentioned. After all, reporters and authors pointed out Camilla Parker-Bowles' relationship to the royal family through her ancestor,Alice Keppel.mistress of Edward VII.

  3. This posting is from a child. It make no sense and suggests that more of the same will occur while the school holidays persist.

  4. The only thing the pair have in common is that they are both Scottish, and countless Scots couldn't give a d**n about either one of them.

  5. it's unlikely as someone would have found the link before now when gordon became high in the labour party ............
