Yes that must be the reason. McCain is willing to risk having that unqualified lady become commander in chief in these troubled times just to win a few votes. Can anyone seriously argue she'll be ready on day one if that should be necessary?

Is that country first? Risking the future of America's children to pick up some female voters? What an insult to the intelligence of the good American people.

Governor Palin is very inexperienced, is in the midst of an investigation accusing her of abusing her power by firing a state trooper that divorced her sister, and belongs in a state that has too few electoral votes in play.

I believe she's a terrible pick. The only thing on her favor is that evangelicals seem happy with her right-wing positions.

McSame is insane the only thing this will accomplish is getting the votes from backward religious folk that want to enforce there beliefs on everyone (Which is not only against the law but also against what America stands for) and women who only see the chance to make history (Remember women judge this person not by there gender but by the content of there Character you don‘t want to give the first female vice president a bad name it will only hurt your cause in the future!) Of course this will give Obama plenty of ammo against McSame but unlike the Republicans who only know how to cheat and lie and throw mud at there opponents Obama will respectfully disagree!

It was a gutsy move. Palin is a very STRONG and impressive candidate for anyone who bothers to look in to her history. How it will play out, I wouldn't venture to guess. But it renewed my interest in the McCain ticket. I was seriously thinking of sitting it out.

I'll bet a ton of Hilary supporters have now more of a reason to vote McCain, as do all the female voters. The old people voters were going for McCain anyway, so Biden didnt' help Obama there.

This pretty much guarantees Obama will lose. Plus the republicans have the Clintons working behind the scenes in their favor.  Back to being a shoe-shining activist for Obama the communist baby killer
