After all the congressional hearings on Roger Clemens, can we now agree that Greg Maddox was actually better? I cant say for sure that Maddox never took any steriods or HGH; but based on his pitch speed, if he did he should demand his money back.

  1. Yes he is!

  2. Even before the congressinal hearings for Roger Clemens I think Greg Maddux was the better pitcher.  So to answer your question, yes I think Greg Maddux is the greatest pitcher of our era.

  3. Of course id like to see more pitchers that can control phenominally and not having to use a 95 mph fastball. It makes it more difficult and with the record he has that is amazing. And he difinitly didn't take steroids.

  4. You can make the argument that he is, and everyone will give him the nod based on longevity over say Pedro Martinez who battled numerous injuries.  Personally, based on sheer dominance I would give Johnson and Clemens the upper hand (regardless of the HGH drama).  However, overall based on career, lack of drama, and incredible ability with out throwing hard, Maddux is the best pitcher of this era.

Also just to throw it out there, he isn't the best pitcher, but one could include say Mariano Rivera or Trevor Hoffman in the argument.

  5. Don't forget about Randy Johnson...He's had just as much success as Maddux and has also thrown a no-hitter and perfect game.

  6. yes greg maddox is the best pitcher of his era. he has over 300 wins and has great pitch accuracy. umpires have so much respect for him that their strike zone for him  usually expands an inch or two on the outside corner. now how many pitchers can say that
