Question:

Is Gustav a pipsqueak, played up by the GOP to fake concern after Katrina?

C'mon folks, this minnow is a Category 3 compared to Katrina's 5. The Surge is expected to be 14 ft. and not 25 like Katrina's. Is the media in cahoots with the GOP to make the slackers look more responsible this time around. Also, notice how the gas prices did not shoot up 75 cents at the first gust of air after grandma's sneeze. The oil company's fat cats are in a bind with falling demand and knows raising prices will hasten their demise with people buying hybrids and electric cars faster. Also the prices are already so high that even Gustavs surge will not dampen profits. At least the coastal Governors are looking important and McCAin has an opportunity to appear

"Presidential" and "Heroic" with Wundergal Palin in Tow. The height of ironies will be if the storm changes course or is just a whimper and the administration has little room to appear concerned this time around. Wishing the folks the best, and it is my guess this storm will be a pipsqueak with low property damage and a negligible body count. Wanna bet?

  1. I am about to find out how bad it will be compared to katrina. I lived on the gulf coast of Ms for Katrina and I now live in Lafourche parish which is near Terrebonne parish where the storm is coming in at. The eye should pass over where I am. I lost my home in Katrina and lots of people lost their lives and until you have been through it if you have not then you should know it is better to be safe than sorry. You hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Are you currently in Terrebonne or Lafourche parish. What they are saying is not a joke I have witnessed first hand. Louisiana does not have as strong of a coast line as what it did years ago much of our coastline is gone. I will let you know how it goes and if you are in this area then God bless you and keep you safe.

  2. Get a grip of your liberal self! You know I'm voting for McCain if liberals are stupid enough to think the GOP controls mother nature.

I'm starting to think they all sit around doing a Linda Blair.

  3. Oh yeah, totally. I saw McCains self righteous smirk as he was making that announcement...

  4. I totally agree with Jennifer Gayle. Wether Gustav is a dud or not, you have to care about the people in the potential affected area's. They are more important.

  5. As said before, do your research, this storm appears to be set to come ashore as strong or stronger than Katrina. The damage a storm does is dependent on a vast number of variables like tide, geography, storm direction, etc. Yes, it's possible Gustav will be a whimper rather than a bang, but right now it definitely qualifies as a potentially devastating hurricane.

  6. I live in Louisiana and first of all Katrina made landfall as a Cat 3. Get your facts straight. Second of all, our Governor did a great job of getting people out so there would be less casualties. Third of all, the gas prices are rising, and it is because of the hurricanes, but also because of Labor Day. So, do more research and stop making the Republicans seem horrible. At least our Republican governor is doing something about it. I like neither party, but I'm very proud of our Governor for taking charge of the situation.

  7. Tell that do the Doppler radar.

  8. I agree Jennifer Gayle.

Unless you live in Louisiana, or have done your research, you really have no clue what us Louisiana natives are going through right now.

  9. Katrina hit as a Cat 3, ding-dong.  There is still speculation that Gus will hit as a 4.

The only bet I'll take is that you're a moron.

  10. KKP- are you retarded? The left wing media is showing continuous coverage of the hurricane at hand. The hurricane is moving at twice he normal speed and is growing in magnitude/intensity. Please, leave conspiracy theory to people better than yourself.
