Question:

Is Gustav an exagerated hurricane for Republicans to pretend they care and are now going to raise money?

It's a relatively minor hurricane in power, way off the coast too, yet the GOP makes it seem like the world's coming to an end, the convention is postponed and now it's opening with a fundraiser - a little too fake I think! What do you think? Can they make up for Katrina last minute by turning Gustav into Katrina?

  1. Hurricanes have been known to ramp up at the last minute. The government is paying attention to it and preparing for the worst, and you complain they're doing too much. If they didn't prepare for it, you'd complain they weren't taking it seriously enough.

Why does it seem all you libs do is complain, no matter what happens? It seems you won't be happy unless Gustav hits New Orleans and destroys the entire city. Grow up.

  2. who cares at least people are giving money even if they pretending at least people would be helped. i mean then rather let those people go without the money right then they could suffer let whoever wants to help help i say

  3. Yesterday they where expecting it to be a direct hit on New Orleans and it was going to be at least a Cat 4 if not Cat 5. Cat 5 is a very bad storm. We are all happy that it weakened.

  4. It's the RNC taking advantage of a relatively minor hurricane. Gustav is now a category 1, with winds up to 85 mph. Big deal, we get that sometimes all the way up in Colorado. Not only that, but New Orleans is virtually deserted right now anyway.

There is no way they can make up for Katrina, not with that many deaths and destruction. McCain just wants to appear presidential, even though since he's still just a senator right now, he can't do squat except sit in his hotel and twiddle his thumbs in worry.

  5. i'm experiencing gustav as we speak and getting internet via generator.  7 dead already.   i do not expect it to be no where near katrina and rita. it is a hurricane and thanks for being so concerned.

  6. Enough already for putting all the blame on Republicans.

The Mayor and Governor of Louisiana sure didn't handle Katrina well.  Seems to be you're miffed because the

Republicans post poned the convention (and they were

right to do so) and it made them look better than Obama

who Didn't Care to cancel when Fay came in.

    Enough said.
