I have been comparing the two and I have noticed that Gustav is may have more time to strengthen than Katrina did. Considering how fast Gustav jumped to a category 4, basically overnight is he the stronger storm of the two? My boyfriend is from New Orleans and he says that they haven't repaired the levee's good enough yet? Are we looking at a worst disaster than Katrina?

  1. Well, seeing as they didn't fix the levees then it probably will flood horribly. I don't think there will be as many people there as before and I think people, will be still scared from the last storm and leave early. I can say though if Gustav is as bad as Katrina people are probably going to give up on That general area. I mean if every couple of years some hurricane is going to destroy your town then s***w that. I'd move. I think if it's bad people will also put an even bigger emphasis on stopping global warming and all that stuff.

  2. Sunday morning, 8-31, 6 am eastern time Gustav has weakened to a Cat. 3 with 125 mph winds, but is expected to strengthen over the warm waters of the Gulf Of Mexico.

Note: the warm waters of the Gulf is caused by global warming and Al Gore is the Savior of all mankind

  3. well i think Gustav is going to be worst because it killed 35 people...as a tropical storm

and its not even close to the U.S. and it is a cat.4 and Katrina was a Cat.5

so i think its going to be worst

  4. As hearing and seeing reports, Yes Gustav is considered worse than Katrina was, he is kind making Katrina look like a complete fool.

Levee's aren't fully strong nor finished in some areas, Levee's only hold Cate 1 and 2. Since Gustav is a strong Cate 4 almost 5. Probably, also since New Orleans looks like it's gonna be on the Eastern Side of him. Which east side of the storm is the bad. Gustav beat Katrina and Rita.

  5. The storm looks stronger.. but not as many people will be left in the city. so the death toll will be much lower, damage may be much worse though.
