Is HDMI vs Component a big difference?

I'm buying a ps3 and my tv can only hold component will it make a big diffrence on my hdtv? Is it really noticable or is it hard to notice?

I prefer HDMI because of the single cable.  But defently not worth going out and buying a new tv

I really don't think that you will actually be able to see the difference between HDMI (High Definition Mulitmedia Interface) and Component Video Input. The only thing you may notice the difference in, and I assume you have a home theatre system, will be in the sound quality.

HDMI does in fact, deliver the best picture quality but the improvement is not great enough to purchase a new HDTV.

You won't be missing a whole lot, but of course, if you're looking for an excuse for yourself to tell your wife you need a new one, I wouldn't let her know what I just told you.

Good HD-rated component cables can carry 1080i/p signals.

But not all "component" cables were built for the higher frequency signals used in high def.

Make sure the component cables say "HD Rated" or have bandwidth measurements that say 90 Mhz or more.

BlueJeans sells some decent stuff for about $60. It's what I have my xBox360 hooked up with (I have last years model that does not have a HDMI connector).
