Is HSMP approval the same as Work Permit VISA?

I recently got an approval letter from the home office for HSMP. I want to ask if this approval is enough for me and my wife to work legally in the UK without seeking another work permit. I am not a citizen of UK. any got an idea?

With your HSMP approval letter you need to apply for an entry clearance VISA into the UK. Once you have this and you come to the uk you are entitled to work in the UK for ANY employer. With the approval and the entry clearance you and your wife  can both work legally in the uk without needing any other work permit for as long as the hsmp entry clearance is valid.

This is much better than a work permit becasue with a work permit you are only allowed to work for the company that sponsored the work permit.
