okay first off this is my sons answers avatar and stuff this is his MOTHER!!!!!!!

My son wants to play Halo 3, he recently turned 13 an he asked for halo 3 for his birthday. After watching the gameplay on television I agreed. My son very excited wanted it now. (like most teenagers) Of course I asked my husband if he was okay with it. He gave me multiple reasons why he should not get it and he has convinced me that it is rated mature 17+

and my son does not need it. However my son has not stopped telling me that it is not that bad. He tells me over again that you don't shoot people the blood there is barely any and the langage is nothing but "d**n" or "h**l"

I still can't seem to believe him, but he is trying to pursuade me in so many ways it okay.

Please tell me what you think I would like to know from expirenced parents in my situation or adults that have played the game.

  1. Well my brother  started playing halo 2 at 9. He is now 12 and plays Halo 3. It really isnt bad. Theres minor curse words, like your son said. Theres blood but not a lot. I think its fine. Otherwise I wouldnt be saying this stuff. Its really fun too.

  2. its really not that bad.

    some cussing.

    and you kill people.

    thats it.

i started playing Halo when i was about 8.

    my brother played it.

    its really fun.

  3. well ive played part oif the first and second ones and i dont think they are really that bad, and halo isnt as bad as stuff olike grand theft auto, which i refuse to play because ive seen what that makes the kids neer me do, they alll act "gangsta" and think its okay, but halo 3 isnt that bad i think, most of the combat isnt very factual, and the fact that they arent humans in the campaign make it less realistic, but ive heard about part of the game being terrifying in the terrible graphics of the first one, the floodd is supposedly the most terrifying thing in any game theyve played, if i had kids i might let them play it once they were 13-14, but i would probably wait till 15ish

  4. It should be appropriate for his age since ive played it ever halo the original came out and i was like 10. The point of the whole game is to shoot aliens they say other words than h**l and d**n they say b*****d and s**t  also but when it come to when the aliens are dead purple and blue come out of them its a great game its a game a 13 year old would be interested in and if you have xbox live you should be able to download the demo and he can play it for you and you can see only if you have xbox live you can download and if you dont approve of the game try call of duty 4 (cod4) which is also rated M but it is about the war in iraq and that game has real blood and cursing but it shows about the war in iraq so you should also think about buying that

  5. its really not that bad

    M is basically teen

and teen is a less intense version

i don't know any boy my age (14) who hasn't played halo

  6. Theres a lot of blood, but I THINK you can turn that off. The blood of the aliens is blue so yeah... The game itself isn't too bad. Yes the cussing is mostly the d*** h*** and s***

  7. Yes , he is right, Halo 3 is not that bad and  there is not alot of blood, and no language( well a little, but he already told you), and they shoot aliens, not people ( cough! cough! second person) ! I play Halo 3 all the time with my little brothers who are 11 and 12. It is not bad and you should watch him play to see for yourself! It is the best game!!! Let him have something he really wants!

  8. Just to make things clear, your parenting techniques are probably different than other parents, so no pressure.

    Princess_ellie says:

Okay, personally, unless there is sexually explicit or graphic violence, I don't see the problem with a little blood. When things get bad are when the kid becomes addicted to said game or displays violent actions in response to the game. And each parent has a different language policy. If you belive that "d**n" and "h**l" are inappropirate, than restrict your son's exposure to said words. In the end, you're the parent.

    It's kinda your call.

  9. yes.

he probably has seen worse things in movies.

  10. yeah my friend JR is 14 now but i met him when he was 13 and he was doing this move from Halo3 that was funny so he can play it
