  1. Don't worry, as a guest of our country. You'll be treated like one. We always reserve the best for our guests. Unlike lots of places I've been through. That's why I have trouble understand why people treat their guests like dirt.

We are a country with manners. You shouldn't have to worry about.

  2. Ha Noi is safe. I lived there and never had any problems.

  3. Viet Nam and Ha Noi are among the safest places I have been in my travels - 40 some countries the last time I tried to total them up.

There are lots of things to do in town. Many, many museums - check out the Ethnology Museum for an excellent overview of SOME of the different ethnic groups in Viet Nam. The old town would keep you busy for a long time. Even if you don't like shopping, people-watching is great fun!

Many interesting pagodas. Hoan Kiem Lake is a nice place to take a quiet stroll, in the center of the noisy city.

Great food, great people, and if you are coming soon, the weather is also great!

Downside - motorcycles. Be very careful while crossing the streets. There is a technique and if you watch, you should pick it up quick. And, just because the light is in your favor, do NOT step out without looking every which way! People run the red lights with great regularity.

Ha Noi is a nice city. I have been here for 4 years, and hope to be here a lot longer!

If you are going to be here for more than a few days, there is a ceramics village, Ba Trang, just outside of the town - a 20 minute taxi ride. And a weekend trip to Sapa is well worth it if you have the time.

  4. Not only Hanoi, Vietnam is quite safe for every ones. Vietnam is one of the most safest countries in the world today. And in/surround Hanoi, there are many interesting sightseeing points to see:

Hanoi: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of literature, Museums, Old Quarter..

Around Hanoi: Perfume Pagoda, b***h Dong Caves, Cuc Phuong National park, Halong Bay, Villages....

    Enjoy your traveling to Vietnam!!

  5. It's safe.  Their airport is pretty modern. In the city, people are geniunely nice and chances of getting robbed are about the same as in any other city.   Actually, if locals rob tourists, the police come down extra hard on them, so you really don't have much to worry about.

  6. Yes, it safe. I have been there for 3 times and you don't have to worry about safety even if you are out till 12am. The only trouble I have is the traffic. Too many motorcycles and bikes.

There is a famous lake,Hoan Keim Lake, where an old (really old) turtle live. Folks believe if you happen to see it, you will have good luck for the rest of your life. There is another bigger lake is called West Lake. It's highly recommended by the local as well.

I managed to find a web site which provide more details on the places of attraction.

Hope you enjoy your business trip in Hanoi. I like the place, it's pretty relaxing. Do try their famous dish, beef noddle (pronounced as "fur" in english).
