Is Harrogate, north Yorkshire, a good place for parks, green spaces and such?

My memories of Harrogate are mainly of the town centre; its a good town, but is there much greenery? Do the parks tend to be small and tidy, or is there much wild space? Obviously I have looked it up on the map and the net, but its hard to gauge an accurate idea without hearing it from someone who knows the area.

  1. Stayed there on a rugby tour ( many years ago !) There was a huge park area near  town centre which gave it a lovely atmosphere Nice town .

  2. It's actually quiet in the summer but busy the rest of the year because of the Conference Centre, which is off-season right now. I was only there 2 days but I wish it had been longer. Also a good base if you want to visit nearby York.

  3. yes , you will not be dissapointed - travel there all the time
