Is Hawaii part of the continent of America?

Since its a state of the US is it also considered part of the American continent now?

No, but it is under the rules of the North American Free Trade Agreement.  It is not considered to be a part of any continent.   Some Islands are considered to be a part of a continent.  The UK and Ireland are condsidered to be part of Europe.  The Phillipines are considered to be part of Asia as is Japan.

  6. it isnt part of the continental united states. It isn't even on the north american plate it's on the pacific plate.  

  7. 1)  A continent is a rather huge land mass.  An island is a rather small land mass surrounded on all sides by water.

    2)  Most people refer to "the continental Unites States."  By that they mean all the ones that touch at least one other state.  This excludes Alaska and Hawaii.

    3) The Continental US lies on a plate of the earth's crust.  The seismic activity of the west coast is caused because the US plate is sliding over the Juan de Fuca plate.

    4)Hawaiian Islands are being formed by the volcanic activity along the edge of another crustal plate.

  8. No, it is not a contiguous part of the United States.  It is a series of islands in the Pacific Ocean which is a h**l of long ways from the mainland.
