Is Homeland Security an example "institutionalized paranoia"?

...seems to me this is how generalized, irrational fears have become a government institution.

---------------

"Let paranoiacs have input into our governments policy, and paranoia becomes necessary in evaluating that policy."

Will you become an "enemy" simply because somebody (who ought to be on medication and in an institution and has authority from Homeland Security) irrationally fears YOU?

  1. Fear and a Flase sense of security,

The government wants you to be afraid of that which you cannot see therefore they create a terror alert level watch and code it with colors this way they can say "RED" and everyone gets nervous.

They then create Homeland Security and in the name of protecting you take away your rights and freedoms. this is a false security.

I was at the airport a couple days ago and there were lines of lemmings taking off shoes and throwing out bottles of water because it makes them feel safe what they need to realize is that the ones telling us to be afraid are the ones we need to fear

  2. that, and CIA, FBI, DEA, well pretty much every police force known to man.

  3. Yes,of the Gestapo variety...

  4. It is more an example of micro-managerial control of the populace. If the government views you as a threat, it is not always because you are a threat to the citizens. You might be a citizen who undermines the authority of the government through inflamatory speach or writing.

"Just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after you."

    -Kurt Cobain

  5. it is a bureaucracy , larger government , less liberties, plain and simple open shut case of classic tyranny.

  6. homeland security is retarded is all it is.,... and you sheeple who hang on every word of the press fear everything they tell you to fear.  think for yourselves.. do YOU feel like we're still in danger? do YOU feel like the taxes we pay ought to go back to keeping us safe from possible attacks? and do YOU feel that the person next to you is suspicious.

once the *radical* muslim threat is eliminated, we can go back to sitting at our airport gates waiting for our loved ones, without worry that they might not be landing because they were on the plane that was hijacked.
