  1. Probobly not because they do not have enough money. They are spending/will be spending lots of money on other players.

  2. geez not on more than a 1 year deal

    they already have enough headaches

BUT if they can swing it i think they will try cause he will only gain chemistry with Crosby and is back on a winning team again so i think his confidence is back

it is a great fit, but not under the salary cap

  3. Good thing Elly up there is a top contributor in Sociology, because I don't think an average man much like myself could have picked apart that quote like he/she did...

To answer your question, I don't think Hossa himself knows if he'll be in the Burgh next season. But stay tuned and find out with the rest of us.

  4. They probably can't afford him in the long run.  After Malkin's deal runs out at the end of next year, it will be tough to fit them both under the cap, and he isn't likely to sign a one-year deal.

He's been careful with his quotes, so the Pittsburgh media has been optimistically misinterpreting things.

Here's the one that has everyone talking:

"I'm glad Pittsburgh got me here. This was a fun journey for myself, and a great experience. I hope I can stick with a great team like this.  There's always a limit, but I'd rather take a little less and play on a good team, definitely."

A great team "like" the Penguins.  So basically, a contender.

  5. probably not

  6. he better be shipping up to Boston

  7. Hossa said he would like to stay in Pittsburgh (and why wouldn't he?), but I have my doubts whether they can hold on to him while also resigning Malkin, Fleury, and Staal. There are other wings the Pens could pick up for less money, but with less talent. I would love for him to stay, but my bet says he is gone by next season, along with a large handful of other Pens players.

  8. I believe Hossa will stay in pittsburgh for a one year deal.

Think about if your in Hossa's skates you get to play beside the best setup player in the world (Crosby). His numbers are going to be inflated almost garenting him a HUG contract the following year. So he gets to be with a contender and then he gets to go make his money. Not a bad deal. If the Penguins do loose Hossa there are still many players avilable on the free agent market to fill his position at a reasonable price. Brian Rolston comes to mind...

  9. just a rumour ive been hearing for the past week or so, but i hear its Hossa to Boston or Chicago, and Afinogenov to play with Crosby... well have to see how that pans out.

Hossa can fit under the cap, but its gonna be tuff and gonna take alot of work by Shero

  10. i was watching MSG and they were saying that the rangers could possibly take hossa... who knows they probably will they love taking the older guys from pittsburg.

  11. time will tell but they have to think economics. their younger core guys like Fleury, Malkin and Crosby are going to want more $ to stay on - even if they take a pay cut of sorts (taking 4 million when they could get 6 million elsewhere .. that was an example mind you) .. it's still more than whatever they're making now
