Is Hot Shot and Bumble Bee the same character in transformers?

I am trying to find out if they are the same person, different person, or related.

No they are not. Bumblebee was one of the original transformers. His original morph was a beetle. They made a homage to it in the movie when bumblebee parked next to the yellow beetle in the car lot. Hotshot was made up later in one of the animated spin-offs. They are not related and have never even met in any of the shows and spin-offs.

hot shot first appeared in the cyberton trilogy.

armada,energon,and cybertron.

hot shot is very much like the orginal bumble bee.

b/c they are both young but have great potential.

but hotshot is a little to cocky and tries to do everything his way and most of the time it doesnt pay off.
