  1. "Deserve"? Tough to say. Dallas has done fairly well. Though Houston has historically been a weaker market. Of course, the CBA has opened up lots of possibilities for marginal markets.

One advantage for a Houston team is an instant rivalry with Dallas.

Personally, I'd like to see a team return to Winnipeg before any more southern teams are added.

  2. if they couldn't keep a football team in Texas how the heck will a hockey team survive?

  3. I'm sure it's on a list, but there are lots of other cities on that list

  4. Habs_fan........you Texan homer! lmao.....jk jk

EDIT: What the f' does "no entiendo gringoish" mean?

    Greg........LMAO!

  5. they got one in dallas so no

  6. They are most definitely deserving. The major problem is that there are cities way more deserving. Texas has the most professional teams in the U.S.  Another NHL team could plausibly make it.

I would rather see a team in Quebec, Hartford or Winnipeg again.

  7. Of all the major cities in the sunbelt a lot of ppl overlook Houston h**l if there are 2 teams in Florida, and teams in Nashville, Atlanta, Raleigh well why not Houston .. good ? .. Austin  will soon have the Iowa Stars (farm team for Dallas) and Houston is "only" 6 hours away for me. Dallas is 10 - 12 depending on traffic. (one way mind you) Houston could also draw in crowds from New Orleans and other southern fans who want better than ECHL / CHL hockey.

As many of you know, I have lived and travelled in Canada so I am generally in favour of teams being either moved to, or established, in Canada and Quebec; however it should be noted that there are more "professional" hockey teams in Texas than in any province or state.

Me too Keith - having lived in Quebec and my brother being an old-school Nordiques fan. I do go to school in Texas these days though.

    Kate : check your email

Ya'll do what now Kate, no entiendo gringoish

  8. Sure anyone should be, but let's bring one to the North West part of the lower 48, I mean come on already.  The nearest for me in Oregon is San Jo and that is a pretty long drive 9 or 10 hours, but we make the pilgrimage when the Wings are in town...

  9. Yeah they should take the team away from Atlanta they suck and have no attendence.. what ever cities dont have good sales should sell to Canada or other cities that will actually come to watch

  10. Well if they can have a healthy fan base I don't see why not. And even if it is not a success, it can't be worse than the Thrashers.

  11. Kate- it means "I don't understand disparaging-term-for-white-person-ish."
