  1. It is just a couple of hours from Cancun right now.

  2. I am going to Cancun also tommorow. My flight leaves NY at 640 AM and as of now we are going. I am getting very scared as the hours go by and I hear more news about hurricane Dean. I am just hoping for the best, and our hotel said if it does reach 5 that we will be evacuated to a hotel downtown inland. Please keep me posted with any news that you here.

  3. It's not looking good.  We are leaving also from DFW for a week in Cancun beginning 08/24.  Hey Mr. Charles C.  Shout me an email so we can discuss what happens next week.

  4. I am going in November, and my niece on her honeymoon next month...we are all looking...

I heard if the track stays the same...sometime on Tuesday it should hit...But there's always a chance it could swing up to miami...fingers are crossed

  5. Please read this important article re:  CANCUN & HURRICANE DEAN!!!

  7. I am leaving for Cancun from DFW on August 26th.  I'm praying for everyone's safety and that Hurricane Dean will start to lose strength.  I still think it's possible that Dean's course could change a little and not make a direct hit on the Yucatan peninsula.  I'm hoping anyway.

  8. I was suppose to leave on Sunday for a week. But they say the chances of a Level 4 on Monday and Tuesday are very high. So I have no idea what to do either. This is a pain in the butt!!! Because they have yet to cancel our flight. So expedia says as long as the flight goes a refund might not be possible.............. I am NOT happy!

  9. they say it will hit till Monday

  10. We are not hearing any firm news at this time as the storm has not yet entered Caribbean Waters - although it will later today.

The 4 day forecast is even more uncertain today than yesterday because of another band of 'air' close to Jamaica.

We should have a better idea on Sunday.

At the moment it's expected to impact the Yucatan in some way - whether it will hit full on is not known.  It looks like it could evan pass straight through the Yucatan Channel (between Cancun and Cuba) - in this case we would receive some wind and rain but minimal damage.  We will start to see the effects Monday evening and Tuesday
