I feel really bad for all the animals, because it seems there's never a concern or plan for them. I wonder how many will be left behind.

  1. I know the spca shipped out a bunch of animals today.

  2. The ASPCA has already evacuated sheltered animals, and is providing help in transporting other pets out along with their owners.  They're even providing cages for the trip.

You can see the projected path of the storm, and find links to local TV and newspaper coverage, live streaming webcams in the affected areas, preparation guides, plus links to the National Hurricane Center coverage of the storm on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com

  3. No, I think its only gonna be up tp a 3

    Katrina was a 5

  4. Well you know hindsight is 20/20 they are making preparations for people who have animals to board buses as well. I still have this sad vision of a cute little white dog being left behind while the owners had to tearfully leave their dog behind to get on a bus.

I hope its not as bad as Katrina but at least they are evacuating EVERYONE including the animals this time.

  5. To other answerers who think that Gustav will only be a 3. Newsflash: Gustav is now a Category 3 and it hasn't even hit Cuba yet.

Edit: because Casagarba, my answer was 6 hours prior to yours, the hurricane did strengthen to a 4 within those six hours. Check your facts next time.

  6. I think it'll be a 3 as well...Not as strong as Katrina or Rita.

  7. it is now a 4 and expected to be a five. most of you are wrong

  8. actually the SPCA and the zoo have already evacuated all there animals. and yes gustav will b a whole lot bigger then katrina was....which sucks

  9. katrina made landfall as a category 3. gustav will likely not be as large, but will probably be a 3, though like katrina it may lose strength just before landfall.

national geographic says it could very well become as big as Kat ...OOOH I'm so worried! yes animals are being evacuated along with the owners & shelter animals went friday morning.
