Is Hurricane Gustov going to be worse than Katrina?

I heard its supposed to hit New Orleans dead on. How much damage will it cause?

You heard that where?  All reports I have seen say that it will most likely make landfall about 100 miles west of NOLA.  This storm is smaller than Katrina and as of now, it is expected to hit as a CAT 3.

it is not supposed to hit head on. the east half of the hurricane is supposed to hit the city...which IS acutally worse. also, katrina was on the high end of a CAT 3...this hurricane is already there - it will gain speed. so if it goes as planned, it will be much worse. but then there's all the stuff about bombings of levees in order to sacrifice low income neighborhoods for the rich ones

it will not hit it dead on but you do have just reason to worry as it will get a very bad part of the storm. the surge will be very bad. I am listening to the news know. KTDY 99.9 and the news stated the surge will be a very serious challenge for the flood gates in the 9th ward.

my family is in Opelousas and broussard and in Opelousas they will get the worst they have had because the way it is coming in to the coast. (angle)  opelousas never has seen cat 2 winds before right? it will be new.
