  1. The use of H2 gas as a fuel is not intended to be the be all and end all.  It is most practical as a portable energy source, either for transport or portable generators.  By 2050 there will be a mix of solar, wind, nuclear, tidal and wave generated power.

  2. Hydrogen is not the answer because Hydrogen is not a form of energy but a form of energy storage.

Think of Hydrogen as you would a battery.

We still have to get the energy from somewhere.

  3. Hydrogen is pretty hard to store and transport and there aren't many fueling infrastructure which of course would cost lots of money to make

Electric would seem to be better than hydrogen

1)Electricity is required for the electrolysis of water to separate the hydrogen from oxygen. when you are trying to convert one source of energy to another theres always a loss(waste) through some like heat. so why not just power the cars off of electricity itself if would be more effiecent.

2)Battery technology is getting better faster than hydrogen

3)Who do you think are supplying the hydrogen? BP, Chevron, Shell and Exxon sound familiar? All oil companies so we aren't really escaping the oil company gasp are we? We are just redirecting it to another source for them to gouge.

I say the best bet for electric is to have more dare I say nuclear power plants instead of burning coal and also focus and advance on solar and wind power(not as a main source but supplementary) and run everything electric.

The main gripe about electric was the range the car got, the time to charge, and acceleration but so far the advancements in batteries the Tesla Roadster can go 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and a 200+ mile range, The Phoenix SUV and SUT can charge in 10mins

Compressed air also seems to be a good source to power cars if the technology is allowed to advance.

  4. Hydrogen is the most explosive gas on earth ,and at 12 u think u will play with it. U will not see 20.

  5. It will not be the solution to energy problems.

Hydrogen will be made from fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas and coal  to which there is a limited supply.

Hydrogen isnt free in the  environment,  to extract it from water requires fossil energy  because as much is needed to break the H20  molecule apart as is given off by the hydrogen.

Hydrogen is excellent for electric cars as it can be directly converted to electricity,  a process which is nearly 99% efficient to power an electric car,  however, the hydrogen still needs to be made from a fossil fuel source  or converted from water electrically.

Surely, some of this hydrogen can be made using nuclear energy, but that will be a limited amount and more polution with plutonium will result as a byproduct of nuclear reactions in a power plant.

There simply cannot ever be enough solar roof panels in the whole world to convert water to hydrogen.  That is not possible physically.

The solution to the world's energy problem lies in Fusion,  the same process as is on the sun where Mass is converted to energy.  Therein  Hydrogen is converted to Helium with a loss of mass and that lost mass is converted to an enormous amount of energy.   Basically with fusion any element can be converted to energy  and such huge qualtities result according to Einstein's  equation  E= mcsquared.

  6. Hydrogen is not the solution. Fusion is still a lab experiment, not mass produced. Hydrogen, like other fossil fuels, is still an unlimited resource. Hydrogen fuel cell cars are way too impractical and expensive. Solar has the most potential for sustaining energy on Earth. If we could harness one day of sunlight on Earth to energy, we'd have enough energy for each household on the planet for 10-20 years. Even then, every source has an impact. There is no easy solution.
