Yes, IPL has almost suceeded in reducing the game of cricket to a mere mockery. In my opinion it can't be truly regarded as a game, but a source of financial benefit. And the cricket crazy common mass of India is going after that. First of all, there has been considerable amount of buying and selling of the players, like a meagre business commodity, and to worsen matters, the good relationships between the players are being brought to an end by professional rivalry, as open brawls are now taking place on the field itself. Perhaps the day is near when the gentlman's game would turn to a violent wrestling match or something, with the aid of these commercial tournaments.

All this talk about younger generation is all c**p. In a game where only thing matters is how far you can hit the ball and where bowlers are always made the scapegoats maybe entertaining to those who dont know the real meaning of cricket but a sensible cricket lover will never support such a format.
