I think Persian food is very healthy and delicious to boot!  They have very little deep fried dishes, most of their meats & vegetables are grilled, broiled or roasted.  They eat very little frozen food and most of their dishes are based on fresh ingredients.  If you are cooking at home, you can control the amount of oil and butter in any dish.  But generally, Persian cuisine is far healthier than many others.  Right size portions and steady exercise will have you in shape in no time!

    I recommend:  Persian Cooking for a Healthy Kitchen by Najmieh Batmanglij, it's a wonderful cookbook with lots of healthy recipes.  Try your local library, bookstore or Amazon.com

    Carbs are what get you all nice and fat, and there is no way in h**l tahdig(YUM) is good for you.



    I would think (and hope) that most of the dishes are healthy, maybe limit the salt( makes you retain water and look bloated) and the carbs.

    Do some cardio and exercise, you have to eat healthy and work out.
