Is IRH a bad brand?

I was with girls at my stable today, who were talking about getting new helmets, one lifted one up and said, i want something like this one... than another said... "no it could be IRH!" so she dropped it. I asked what was wrong with it and they ignored me... is it like a poor persons helmet or something? these girls are lets face it, much wealthier than i am... and i have an IRH helmet! is there something wrong with them?

I looked up IRH helmets because I have never heard of them before (being a western rider). To me, they look like good helmets. As long as they pass all of the criteria to be a "safe helmet", it doesn't matter.

I have an IRH and i love it. Its great for showing too. There is nothing bad about it.

No, IRH helmets are perfectly fine.  They are ASTM/SEI certified and they are certainly not poor person helmets as they can sell at almost $200.  However, I suspect, as they are not as expensive as some brands (like GPA) that snobs might stick their nose up at them.

I believe you should buy whatever helmet fits you best.  If an expensive GPA doesn't fit, why buy one?  I don't think you should hang out with those girls.  They sound rude, just ignore them.  You don't want to sink to those levels.

IRH is like buying amercain eagle or old navy instead of Abercrombie. It is perfectly fine does the exact same thing without breaking the bank.

There is nothing wrong with IRH helmets they are great i own several myself.

If their more worried about the brand of helmet im sure they are not as worried about improving their riding but only looking good on the expensive horse.

I have an IRH and I love it!

It's comfy, safety approved, mine is adjustable, it has vents on the top so my head can breath, easy to clean and care for, its kept me safe in my falls and while working with horses....

I've never heard a bad thing about IRH Helmets before.

I mean so what if its not a $200 top-of-the-line helmet? It still does the same thing and looks good!

there is nothing wrong with them, they just aren't the "top of the line" like the GPA's. I personally use an IRH and I've got a nice one. People compliment me on it, and then they seem to react "oh it's an IRH?" in a surprising tone. But who cares, it looks good and I saved like 150 bucks.

they're fine but they're the rip off version of the gpa. that's all.
