  1. It used to be an option years ago but its a must now because employers know about certifications and they expect them.

    Certifications show employers you have the knowledge. Having two applicants turn up for the same job, the one most likely to get it will be the one with the certs (this is providing they are having both the experience).

    On forums alot of people are posting that even after years of experience, if they want to move higher up the I.T ladder, they need to get certified in what they know or else it hinders their efforts.

  3. IT Certification will always give you the edge ! go for it if you are thinking about it. it is NOT a must, but NICE to have.

  4. I think IT Certification used to be something that was nice to have but wouldn't necessarily get you hired, but I don't think that's the case anymore. In fact, I think that employers expect you to have at least basic CCNA certification in order to be remotely considered.

    It actually makes sense, because the certiification proves to the employers that the potential workier has put in the time needed to do his job well, and can offer more than just a few computer services.
