Is IVF justifiable?

In a world which is already overpopulated, and particularly in Britain which is over crowded, is IVF justifiable?

Surely if you're unable to bear children then mother nature is giving us a hint that its not something for us. Why isn't adoption a better choice?

  1. coz people want to pass on their genes. Surely if mother nature makes someone stop breathing they're meant to die!

(same logic brought to an extreme example) Britain is overcrowded coz of immigration not coz of birth rates (hah....i sound so racist lol!)

  2. I have often debated the same question with friends. Opinions will vary depending on a persons cercumstances (ie couples with plenty of kids may be against it while other childless couples are for it). I became so annoyed when I was pregnant will my twins when I was always asked if they were 'natural'? (They are) I don't beleive in it as many are for older couples who have put of child bareing til much later. There is a very good reason nature has that time slot of child bareing. Plus it is very frustrating to know that you can 'buy' a pregnancy fairly easily but adopting is made very difficult.

  3. im a test tube babie so im all for it except for same s*x pairs as that is (in my opinion wrong)

what is unnatural about it the fertilization just takes place in a  watch glass.

generally ivf is uses if eggs supplies are dwindling or if the pair are not compatible ie vaglinal fluids kill off the sperm

yes there is adoption but not many youngsters they have all been snapped up and the child can never truly be yours and may not like discovering they have been adopted

try ivf as it is worth it

britain is overcrowding due to immigrants form the and other ******* places

if you look at british peoples birth structure we have a negative pyramid and as all poles starting to leave population will decrease

worlds population is rising due to uneducated poor people having two many children for a sort of old age pension

    go ahead try ivf

  4. "Mother Nature" has nothing to do with it.  Certain medical conditions can make conception difficult.  Someone with cancer who wants a chance to live may have to undergo treatment that destroys their reproductive capability.  It is not quite that simple.

  5. I do not really consider IVF as justifiable.

It is expensive and it consumes tax-payer funded resources.

It has become a toy for the L*****n and "psychologically infertile" sections of society who want to make men optional at best.

It's results are little better than "okay" and the stored embryos, sperm and ova are socio-political and lobbyist's footballs.

    BUT

Adoption is riven with all sorts or bueaucratic nastiness.  Often couples who are medically infertile are judged unsuitable to adopt as well, and there is all this social engineering PC that puts pressure on adoptive patents to raise the child according ot it's birth culture.

Statement of interest:  My fiance and I have found that we will face certain medical infertility issues.  I have looked into adoption.  Unless you are an American movie star, adoption takes years and is full of bureaucratic issues.

    It sucks.
